The Opportunity:
This position is responsible for the development, implementation and management of systems used to collect research data for the Paul G. Allen School for Global Health (SGH) at Washington State University. This position interacts with a broad range of researchers to gather requirements for data collection and storage, and then designs, implements, and maintains these systems. Working as an intermediary between the School for Global Health and the College of Veterinary Medicine’s Veterinary Information Systems unit, this position will also assist in the preparation of data sets for analysis and will act as the primary support contact for a REDCap instance supporting both domestic and international research programs, as well as other data collection systems. Infrequent international travel to assist international research programs may be necessary in this position.
This position will be primarily based at our WSU Pullman Campus; however, remote/hybrid opportunities may be available and can be discussed during the interview process.
Depending on your level of experience, you may begin as an IT Data Management-Entry or IT Data Management-Journey.
Monthly Salary:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience:
IT Data Management-Entry: $5,479 to $7,369 | Range 02IT (Steps A-M)
IT Data Management-Journey: $7,147 to $9,612 | Range 06IT (Steps A-M)
Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications for both:
Position requires a bachelor’s degree in related technology field. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Experience with relational database systems and a working knowledge of structured query language (SQL).
Effective communications and interpersonal skills.
Authorization to work in the US.
In addition to the required qualifications above, IT Data Management-Journey, applicants must also have 3 years of professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications for both:
Experience with REDCap.
Strong understanding of database design.
Experience developing, maintaining, and managing IT applications and systems.
Knowledge and experience with HTML, and CSS.
Knowledge and experience with Python, R, C# or other programming languages.
Experience with restful web services.
ETL processing design, planning, testing, and production implementations.
Data warehousing experience.
Experience with Tableau and\or Power BI.
