Dashboard Engineer (Power BI & Front-End Visualization)

Duration: Temporary (Through June 30th, potential for extension)
Overview: We are seeking a skilled Dashboard Engineer with a strong front-end focus to support the development of executive-level dashboards. The ideal candidate will have expertise in data visualization, UI/UX design, and dashboarding tools, primarily Power BI, with possible Grafana involvement. This role requires a balance of back-end data manipulation and front-end visualization expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and enhance dashboards for executive and managerial consumption, ensuring clarity, usability, and aesthetic appeal.
Work closely with an internal engineer who handles core functionality but requires support in UI/UX enhancements and advanced Power BI customization.
Troubleshoot and optimize Power BI queries and visualizations.
Ensure an intuitive user experience, allowing for drill-down capabilities and detailed data analysis.
Adhere to internal policies regarding open-source tool usage, primarily working with approved or built-from-scratch solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate disparate data sources from platforms such as Activision, Xbox, etc.
Balance the use of out-of-the-box Power BI functionalities with necessary customizations.
Required Qualifications:
4-8 years of experience in dashboard development and data visualization.
Proficiency in Power BI, including DAX queries, data modeling, and custom visualization development.
Strong front-end development skills, particularly in UI/UX for dashboards and data visualization tools.
Experience with Grafana is a plus.
Ability to troubleshoot complex dashboarding challenges and assist with performance optimization.
Experience working with large and diverse datasets.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical insights for executive stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in enterprise environments with governance and risk metrics.
Familiarity with Microsoft’s open-source approval process.
Understanding of common visualization techniques, including line charts, bar graphs, and drill-down reports.
Prior experience supporting cross-functional teams in analytics and dashboarding projects.
