Our team in Space & Defense is looking for a Data Engineer to join them. You will report to the Systems Architect and will have a hybrid work schedule in Blacksburg, VA.
To be considered for Data Engineer you will need:
Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline with 5 years of relevant experience, or associate degree in a technical discipline with 9 years of relevant experience, with the following:
Data warehousing
SQL
ETL/ELT
Integration development – Azure Data Factory, Synapse, SSIS, etc.
Reporting development – Power BI, SSRS, etc.
As a Data Engineer, you will:
Be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data warehouse and integrations systems to meet the business’ analysis and reporting needs. Additionally, the Data Engineer role includes analyzing requirements, testing and documenting solutions, and providing post-implementation support. This will require you to utilize written and verbal communications, problem solving skills, and decision making skills.
Essential Position Functions Include:
Participate in the design and execution of data warehouse and application integration development that involves multiple disparate ERP and business systems
Work independently to manage and execute all aspects of technical projects within the domain of the role responsibilities
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business requirements and translate into technical specifications for the purposes of developing or enhancing an application to meet the needs of the business
Conduct root cause analysis of issues, review new and existing code, and ensure that the optimal technical infrastructure is utilized
Ensure a quality level of documentation is produced and maintained
Stay current on new technology and provide education and coaching to peers
Develop and manage effective working relationships with other departments, groups, and personnel
Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrating respect for others
Provide status reports in a timely manner according to current projects

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
