About the Position

Athena is looking for an ambitious self-starter to join the Optimization and Reporting team as a Social Listening & Data Analyst. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for executing and contributing to the expansion of social listening for local and international clients. This individual will drive real-time understanding of the issues impacting clients’ businesses and brands and will lead comprehensive reports on the situations that arise.  

As part of a growing team of Social Media Intelligence experts, the individual will work closely with the account leader and our clients to uncover new opportunities to deliver insights and enhance business strategy and customer experience. This role is an ideal fit for an individual who enjoys translating complex narratives into digestible communications that inform client action. We work in a spirited, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment and we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running. 

Requirements

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Monitoring and identifying digital content in real time to support crises comms efforts 
  • Interpreting social and media data and determining trends within large amounts of social data, facts, and figures 
  • Daily social listening and comprehensive analytics reports in support of clients’ brand and business priorities 
  • Analyzing competitive landscape and responses to key topics 
  • Presenting findings and translating data into insightful stories for C-suite executives 
  • Understanding and staying up-to-date with client brand priorities including announcements, events, public relations issues, and industry news 
  • Proofing materials to ensure high quality and consistent output 
  • Developing approaches to improve social listening efforts and automating processes 
  • Effectively working as part of a team of social media experts 
  • Contribute to reaching organizational goals by being flexible and working in a team environment 
  • Potential to lead junior analysts in delivering breakthrough, actionable insights supporting brand intelligence and continuous improvement across the enterprise 

Skills and experience you should have:

  • Strong and demonstrable experience in digital and social media analytics or desire to learn 
  • Ability to actively derive insights from digital and social data 
  • Passion for analytics and problem-solving 
  • Committed to going above and beyond for clients 
  • Strong written, verbal, and online communication skills with an understanding of how to follow and incorporate consistent tone and simplify complex ideas 
  • Experience developing executive presentations and understanding of large corporate environments 
  • Excellent MS Excel and PowerPoint skills 
  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail 
  • Expertise and experience with social media and listening platforms (Sprinklr, Brandwatch, Meltwater, Sprout Social, etc.) including advanced Boolean knowledge preferred 
  • Degree in an analytical or business-related subject such as marketing/market research, data analytics, economics, business administration, etc. or equivalent experience 

It’s a plus if you have:  

  • Experience with data visualization and dashboard design preferred

Candidates must be willing to work hybrid (3 days on-site) in our Philadelphia, PA office or remotely in Denver, CO.
