Data Scientists are significant contributors of Optasia's business intelligence and advanced risk management and members of the Data, Risk & BI department.  Data Scientists have experience with the development, deployment and operation of credit risk models, and the day-to-day risk management of large portfolio of loans.  They have the capability to (i) develop statistical and machine learning algorithms, (ii) conduct reporting & risk analytics, and (iii) operationalize models and analytics in the daily risk management activities of large portfolios of loans and (iv) developing dashboards and KPIs to support strategic business decisions.

What you will do

• Develop, deploy and operate strategies for credit risk management and revenue optimization.
• Develop and implement machine learning models.
• Deliver credit-risk insights through big data risk analytics.
• Ad-hoc and scheduled reporting analysis for a variety of projects on a daily base.
• Develop well-organized and insightful dashboards.
• Being able to articulate business requirements and communicating effectively.

What you will bring

• BSc and MSc in Mathematical, Statistical or Quantitative Science from an accredited institution. 
• Strong analytical skills, evidence of providing data driven business insights.
• Experience in statistical modelling with the usage of Python (or similar programming language). 
• Hands-on experience on BI software and tools; like Streamlit, MS Power BI will be considered a plus.
• Base knowledge of technical tools such as Unix shell scripting, Python, Apache Hadoop Data Platform, Apache NiFi and/or Apache Sqoop will be considered a plus.
• Experience using Jira and Confluence; our basic workflow management tool.
• Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office with an advanced knowledge of Excel.

Optional requirements (will be considered a plus):

• Working experience in a related role.
• Hands-on experience of big data processing and analytics.
• Experience with quantitative risk analysis and/or business intelligence.
• Creative skills.
