Position Title: Data Scientist

 

Position Description: Contribute by identifying opportunities to utilize data-driven decision making to elevate commercial decision making. Develop, run, maintain, and improve predictive and prescriptive analytics models for commercial use cases (e.g. pricing, cross-sell, customer churn prediction etc.). Deliver actionable insights to deliver business value and drive commercial use cases together with stakeholders from the business, IT, data warehousing, and financial reporting. The core functions of the role include the following: utilize a consultative approach to analytics projects to deliver and communicate insights to stakeholders; develop and operationalize analytics models supporting business decision.; utilize diverse internal and external data sources to generate business insights; help the business translate analytics models into tangible actions and track their impact; focus on continuous improvement to deliver better insights enabling more effective business decisions. Telecommuting is permissible up to 2 days per week; must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Chesterfield office.

 

Position Qualifications: This position requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics, or a similar quantitative field, and 2 years of work experience in Data Science. Additionally, a qualified applicant must have professional experience with the following: (1) Experience in advanced statistics, encompassing a comprehensive understanding of both parametric and nonparametric statistical methodologies including cluster analysis, random forests, gradient boosting, and time series analysis to improve predictive accuracy and handle complex datasets; (2) Experience in machine learning concepts, encompassing a solid understanding of key algorithms (ex: linear regression, logistic regression), model evaluation techniques, feature engineering, and optimization strategies, instrumental in designing and deploying robust machine learning models for various applications; (3) Experience in Python with leveraging data manipulation packages such as Pandas, Plotly, Seaborn, and Numpy to perform advanced data analysis and modeling tasks; (4) Experience in writing SQL to extract and retrieve data from databases, facilitating seamless data access and manipulation for effective data analysis; and (5) Experience in the use of Tableau and its functionalities to design and develop intuitive and visually compelling dashboards for business stakeholders, enabling effective data exploration and empowering informed decision-making processes.
