Discover how we deliver value for our customers.LSEG is looking for a hard-working and technical Cyber Security Analytics Engineer to operate and administer Security Operations logging platforms including SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) and security detection content.
The successful candidate will have good knowledge of security logging concepts, worked with one or more security logging or observability tools such as SIEM and Syslog-NG, and an interest and/or proven experience in onboarding, parsing, and extracting value from cyber security data feeds.
Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have the following traits:
- Ability to work well within tight timelines.
- A continuous desire and willingness to learn and develop your existing knowledge and skills.
- Frequently keeps up-to-date with the latest industry developments, utilising online resources such as blogs and security detection content-specific news outlets.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with particular ability to communicate technical information to non-technical collaborators.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Design, build, and deploy infrastructure to improve and expand the organisation’s security analytics technologies and platforms.
- Support and maintain the SIEM, data analytics and security log collection infrastructure.
- Design, build and enhance detection capabilities through the design, implementation and ongoing tuning of detection platforms and tooling.
- Create tactical and strategic integrations between source systems and security analytics tooling.
- Manage the intake of data feeds and integrations into the SIEM and other platforms.
- Create and maintain operational documentation of design patterns and standards for security analytics, and for the security analytics platforms.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- We are looking for demonstrate knowledge of security logging, detection content, and an understanding of networks and operating systems. If you are someone who keeps up with the latest trends in cyber security and how to proactively identify anomalous activity using data, then we encourage you to apply.
Beneficial skills, experience and certifications:
- Experience with a SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) platform.
- Experience with Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel, Syslog-NG, and similar technologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Experience working in a cyber security function, especially a SOC
Hybrid working requirements:
- Requirement to attend the office in line with LSEG's hybrid workstyle.
- From time to time it will be required to work at weekends to perform a change (aligning with standard processes) and time back will be given in lieu.
