Responsibilities

As the Data Product Owner within Oaktree's Information Solutions team, you will drive the development and delivery of strategic data products that enhance decision-making and operational efficiency across the firm. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, product management skills, and a deep understanding of financial data and solutions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with technology, operations, and front office stakeholders to define and prioritize data product requirements.
  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation through to deployment and maintenance.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and/or prototypes.
  • Document detailed product requirements, calculations, SLAs, quality expectations and lineage.
  • Work closely with data architecture and engineering teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of new solutions.
  • Monitor and analyze the adoption of data products, gather user feedback, and develop plans to drive continuous improvement.
  • Oversee agile-oriented process to ensure the iterative delivery of data products, ensuring continuous alignment with business goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to define and track KPIs measuring the impact and efficacy of new solutions. 

Qualifications

  •  Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of product management or relevant experience, delivering products from inception to production.
  • Knowledge of the asset management industry and financial data concep
  • Experience with data warehouse, data lake, and cloud solutions, collaborating effectively with data engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with querying tools (e.g., SQL) and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex data concepts clearly and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of developing talent and implementing standards, policies, and best practices in a product management context.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, or other relevant discipline.

Base Salary Range

$160,000-$200,000

In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives, a comprehensive benefits package and a flexible work arrangement.  The base salary offered will be commensurate with experience and/or qualifications, industry knowledge and expertise, as well as prior training and education.
