As the Student, Data Governance, you will support the Data Governance team in strengthening data management practices across AIMCo. This role provides hands-on experience in data governance, data quality and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with Senior Lead for Data Governance to enhance data governance frameworks, improve data stewardship and support enterprise-wide data initiatives.

This is a 4-month, full-time term from May 2025 through August 2025.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting to implement and improve data governance frameworks, policies and standards.

• Supporting the documentation and review of data contracts, data lineage and metadata management.

• Conducting data quality assessments, identifying anomalies and contributing to remediation efforts.

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support data governance initiatives and ensure adherence to best practices.

• Assisting in maintaining data catalogs to enhance data discoverability

• Assisting ongoing projects and initiatives that align with corporate and divisional objectives.

Our Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in related field such as Computer Science, Data Management, Finance and Information Management

• Strong analytical skills and familiarity with data governance concepts

• Proven leadership, problem-solving and interpersonal skills

• Experience with Excel, Power BI and programming languages such as SQL or Python is an asset

• Ability to work independently and collaborate with stakeholders across different teams

• Demonstrates a strong commitment to AIMCo’s core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity and collaboration, and inspires the same in others

Success Measures:

Your success in the role will be in your ability to complete all tasks and support various projects assigned. You will become familiar with the Data Governance functions and technologies. Collaborate with multiple groups across the organization and build meaningful relationships with experienced professionals across AIMCo.
