Job Description Summary

• This role is part of commercial Data and Analytics team at Novartis
• Understands complex and critical business problems from a variety of stakeholders and business functions, formulate integrated analytical approach to mine data sources, employ statistical methods, machine learning algorithms and AI to discover actionable insights and automate process for reducing effort and time for repeated use.

 

Job Description

Key Responsibilities -

• Excellent written and verbal communication, business analysis, and consultancy skills.
• Ability to work and communicate with senior stakeholders across Novartis teams and proven track record to drive strategic priorities at enterprise level in a matrix environment
• Ability to translate business requirements to problem statements and drive hypothesis generation to identify right data science problems to be solved
• Accountable to drive full lifecycle of Data Science projects delivery and ability to guide data scientists in shaping the developing the solution and act as a subject matter expert in solving development and commercial questions
• Ability to deliver enterprise level scalable solutions along with proven capability in building and developing data science driven software products and understanding of software lifecycle management and agile product delivery

Technical Skills:

• Advanced knowledge and proven experience with the standard data science languages: Python, Databricks and Snowflake and familiarity with database systems (e.g. SQL, NoSQL, graph)
• Comfortable with version controlling (git etc.) and ML lifecycle management tools (MLflow), knowledge of Kedro preferred
• Experience in building statistical, econometrics, ML algorithms (random forest, GBM, clustering techniques, etc.), Basic understanding of optimization - greedy search, Understanding of Marketing Mix and Resource optimization Outputs.
• Understanding of Ex-US pharma data like interactions, sales, call plans
• Proficient in building Deep Learning pipeline (familiar with LSTM, Temporal CNN and other DL based time series techniques)
• Understanding of advanced optimization techniques - Particle Swarm, Bayesian Optimization etc.
• Advanced knowledge of multi cloud environments such as AWS, MS Azure, Databricks along with understanding and familiarity with software development principles
• Extensive experience in developing and scaling data science products at enterprise level and agile product development methodologies
• Understanding of algorithm design, development, optimization, scaling and applications with an ability to create reusable data science assets as service

Minimum requirements –

Master’s / Ph. D in Computer Science / Bioinformatics / Epidemiology / Statistics / Decision Science / Quantitative Research / Econometrics / Computational Biology along with a post-graduate degree in Business Management. Robust understanding of pharmaceutical domain and pharma product life cycle.

Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in Pharma/Healthcare domain/Life sciences. Minimum 5 years of international experience working with Global teams.
