Data Engineering Tech Lead

Our Data Engineering team is looking for a Data Engineering Tech Lead to join the team!

As the Data Engineering Tech Lead, you will work closely with Architects, Engineers, Product Managers and Engineering Managers to ensure highest quality in deliverables whilst also mentoring others.

Tech Lead is the driver of technical improvements within the Teams.

Key Responsibilities: 

As a Tech Lead:

• Work closely with architects within the area to ensure the direction set by the architect is being implemented.
• Align with other tech leads to ensure the technical consistency within our entire product development department.
• Participate in sprint planning, task estimation, development, testing, code reviews, bug fixing, deployment of great software, implementing new features as well as maintaining and improving the existing functionality.
• Identify and design improvements in the applications you are responsible for.
• Help build our world class team, thus participating in interviews as well as mentoring software engineers.
• Stay up to date with technology, understand the benefits and use cases of a variety of technologies and be strategic in their implementation.
• Maintain a good relationship with stakeholders and understand the value of rapport.
  Work closely with Product Managers within and outside of your area.

As a Senior Data Engineer:

• Maintaining and evolving our data platform.
• Involved in data integrations.
• Ingestion of streaming data and applying transformations to data streams.
• Data modelling following data standards.
• Ensuring data quality.
• Keeping up to date on research and development of new technologies and techniques.
• Familiar with the release process.
• An investigative mindset to be able to troubleshoot problems and incident management.
• Full ownership on projects together with being able to work within a Team.
• Put ideas into effective artefacts to cascade to different audiences.
• Document clearly any defined standards together with an architecture overview of how processes work.

What we're looking for:

• University Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 7 years of experience in Data Engineering.
• Excellent verbal and writing English communication skills.
• Good learning mindset.
• Able to set priorities and multitasking.
• Experienced with cutting-edge technologies, like Python, Snowflake, AWS.
