The Aerospace Corporation is hiring a Graduate-level Integrated Acquisition Enablers Intern.
The Systems Engineering Division (SED) provides unmatched experience in systems engineering to the U.S. government and to numerous public and private agencies, universities, nonprofit organizations, consortia, and commercial companies involved in the advanced application of space technology. From systems architecture development to system analysis and optimization, astrodynamics, orbital debris, navigation, failure analysis, mission assurance, cost and schedule assessment, and economic market analysis, SED exploits an incredibly broad array of engineering and business disciplines against a diverse and dynamic portfolio of programs and national challenges.
The Acquisition Planning and Decision Analytics (APDA) Department applies innovative acquisition, systems engineering, and data engineering strategies, expertise, and capabilities to inform customer decisions on evolving needs and threats. The Integrated Acquisition Enablers Section focuses on innovation of digital and data engineering capabilities to enable enterprise integration and provide timely data insights and impacts related to acquisition planning, risk, and forecasting and systems engineering of space, launch, and ground assets. APDA is seeking a Graduate Intern to join a diverse, innovative, and highly productive team of digital and data engineers, scientists, and analysts.
Work Model
This position will be a hybrid work model and offer partially remote with some onsite work (minimum 3 days/week onsite) required in Chantilly, VA or El Segundo, CA.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Work across multiple departments within the Acquisition and Economic Planning and Analysis Subdivision performing data capture, validation, and analysis activities in support of space, ground, and launch systems
- Participate in acquisition studies and research for commercial and government space, ground, and launch systems
- Enhance department-developed digital engineering capabilities
- Document all analyses and present findings to senior staff and management

What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university program pursuing a Masters degree in Aerospace or Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related discipline
- Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full-time after completion of the internship.
- Undergraduate degree completed by internship start date
- Coursework or relevant experience in digital and/or data engineering
- Experience in computer programming and modeling, especially for purposes of developing tools to rapidly capture, analyze, and visualize space, ground, and/or launch system data
- Strong interpersonal, communication skills (written and oral), leadership and problem-solving abilities, as well as growth mindset
- Demonstrated experience presenting and writing technical information
- Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and able to manage multiple simultaneous tasks
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
