About the role
We’re pleased to invite applications for the position of Data Management Officer, to join our Data Management team.
Based in Mawson Lakes, SA and reporting to the Data Management Team Lead, you will work closely with project and engineering teams to ensure accurate cataloguing, storage, and retrieval of critical data, documentation, and media.
In this pivotal role, you’ll deliver comprehensive document and data management services for our Naval Combat Systems (NCS) division.

As part of your specific responsibilities, you will:
- Receive, register, control, and distribute supplier and customer data.
- Manage the distribution of controlled documents and media.
- Handle Defence Safe Hand items, including receiving and dispatching.
- File, index, and retrieve records to meet project and organisational needs.
- Prepare, register, and dispatch data and documentation for delivery or archiving.
- Track and report on approved configuration changes.
- Support software releases by preparing status reports and release documentation.
About you
Your skills and experience will include:
- 3+ years of Defence industry experience in project-based or engineering environments.
- Strong internal customer liaison skills.
- High level of computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience managing soft and hard copy data in an engineering environment.
- Knowledge of Defence Safe Hand practices.
- Proficiency in data management systems for registering and tracking documents.
- Familiarity with archiving techniques and library practices for organising and retrieving media.
Qualification & Personal Attributes:
- Industry-recognised Data Management training or equivalent experience (Desirable).
- Collaborative, accountable, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities under pressure.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and results-driven.
- Collaborative and accountable in team environments.
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
