Capital Health Medical Group is made up of more than 250 physicians and other providers who offer primary and specialty care, as well as hospital-based services, to patients throughout the region.

Position Overview:

This role is responsible for managing a multidisciplinary team of data engineers, BI developers, and data analysts while fostering collaboration across departments to align analytics initiatives with organizational priorities. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Director will ensure the effective utilization of data to support innovation, enhance performance, and promote a culture of informed decision-making. 

Minimum Requirements: Education: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required. 
  • Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Administration, Healthcare Informatics, or related fields is preferred. 
Experience: 
  • 7-10 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or related fields, including at least 5 years in a leadership role. 
  • Proven experience in managing cross-functional teams and delivering enterprise-scale analytics solutions. 
  • Healthcare experience with knowledge of EHR systems, ERP platforms, and operational data sources is highly desirable. 
Knowledge and Skills: 
  • Expertise in data integration, governance, and analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Python, R). 
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and visualization techniques. 
  • Familiarity with healthcare operations, clinical workflows, ERP systems, and regulatory requirements such as HIPAA. 
  • Ability to lead organizational transformation, foster innovation, and promote a data-driven culture. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills with a strategic mindset. 
Other Credentials: 
  • Certifications such as Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), or relevant data and project management certifications are a plus. 
Essential Functions: Strategic Leadership: 
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive enterprise analytics strategy that integrates data from EHR, ERP, and other key systems. 
  • Oversee the design and execution of analytics initiatives that support clinical, operational, and financial decision-making. 
  • Identify opportunities to leverage advanced analytics, including AI and machine learning, to drive innovation. 
Team Leadership and Development: 
  • Manage a multidisciplinary team of data engineers, BI developers, and data analysts, promoting collaboration and alignment. 
  • Mentor team members to foster professional growth and technical expertise. 
  • Establish a dual reporting structure for data analysts in operations, ensuring alignment with IT and operational goals. 
Data Integration and Analytics Operations: 
  • Lead the development and maintenance of data pipelines and platforms to support real-time, predictive, and prescriptive analytics. 
  • Ensure data quality, security, and compliance through robust governance and standardized processes. 
  • Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams to optimize data storage, processing, and accessibility. 
Insights and Decision Support: 
  • Oversee the creation of advanced analytics tools, including dashboards, reports, and predictive models, to deliver actionable insights. 
  • Partner with clinical, operational, and financial leaders to identify opportunities for improvement through data-driven strategies. 
  • Foster innovation by introducing tools and processes that simplify data access and empower end-users. 
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: 
  • Act as a bridge between IT and operational teams to ensure analytics deliverables meet organizational needs. 
  • Promote a culture of data literacy, enabling leaders across the organization to make informed decisions confidently. 
Governance and Compliance: 
  • Implement and enforce data governance policies to maintain data security, privacy, and compliance. 
  • Monitor emerging technologies and best practices to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of analytics innovation. 
Additional Responsibilities: 
  • Provide regular updates to executive leadership on analytics initiatives and their impact on organizational performance. 
  • Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation for the analytics function. 
  • Establish metrics to evaluate the success and impact of analytics programs and initiatives.
