About the Job:

The Business Intelligence department is looking for a Data Warehouse Architect with a strategic mindset on designing and optimizing data environments to support the SAN’s business intelligence needs. This role will design and implement an efficient, flexible, and robust data warehouse environment, ensuring it meets the complex needs of airport operations. The ideal candidate will establish data modeling standards, define best practices for data management, and collaborate closely with Data Engineers and Data Analysts to maintain data accuracy and integrity.

This role is unique—small team, big impact. Unlike large Business Intelligence teams, here, your work is visible and strategic. You’ll have the opportunity to build from the ground up, introduce modern cloud solutions, and create a data infrastructure that supports millions of passengers, flights, and airport operations. Your architecture decisions will influence how the airport optimizes everything from passenger flow to financial forecasting.

What You’ll Do:

  • Architect & Optimize: Design, develop, and sustain a scalable, adaptable data warehouse infrastructure that enhances data quality, accessibility, and business alignment. Optimize Snowflake for data warehousing and Power BI for reporting, ensuring best practices for ETL/ELT, data ingestion, and metadata management.
  • Establish Standards & Security: Define and enforce data warehouse standards to ensure consistency, reliability, and compliance. Implement robust data security measures to meet industry regulations and safeguard sensitive information.
  • Collaborate & Lead: Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to refine data collection, transformation, and storage processes, support self-service reporting, and provide technical leadership while fostering a culture of innovation.
  • Align Data Solutions with Business Goals: Partner with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that support business objectives and analyze the impact of operational changes on data architecture, ensuring adaptability.
  • Monitor & Innovate: Continuously evaluate system performance, recommend infrastructure enhancements, and stay ahead of emerging technologies to maintain a future-proof, high-performing data environment.

The Skills You Need:

  1. Technology & Tools – Proficient in cloud-based data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery), data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI), and database languages (SQL, relational databases). Strong understanding of data modeling (Kimball vs. Inmon), ETL/ELT processes, and data marts, with additional expertise in big data (Hadoop, Spark) and programming languages (Python, TSQL, C#).
  2. Problem Solving & Adaptability – Analyzes complex challenges, develops innovative solutions, and adapts to evolving business needs in a fast-paced environment.
  3. Communication & Collaboration – Translates technical data concepts for non-technical stakeholders, aligning business needs with data solutions while fostering cross-team collaboration.
  4. Data Governance & Security – Deep expertise in data privacy, security best practices, and governance frameworks to ensure compliance and data integrity.

Requirements

The Experience You Need to Have**:

  • Minimum of five years experience in data architecture, data engineering, business intelligence, or a related field, with a strong focus on data warehouse technologies. Proven ability to design, implement, and manage scalable, high-performance data warehouse systems or any equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data analytics, or a closely related field.

Preferred Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, data analytics or a closely related field.
  • Certifications such as SnowPro Core, SnowPro Advanced Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Big Data, Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203), Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305), Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.
  • Familiarity with AI, machine learning, and predictive modeling.
