The New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) is the agency responsible for regulating New York City's taxicab and for-hire vehicle industry. TLC licenses and regulates over 130,000 vehicles and more than 175,000 drivers, making it the most active taxi and limousine regulatory agency in the United States. Aside from vehicles and drivers, TLC also regulates taxicab agents and for-hire vehicle bases, including popular app-based transportation services. The TLC plays a pivotal role in furthering public safety within New York City and is a lead agency in a citywide effort to reduce traffic-related injuries. One of the largest components of TLC’s operations is the enforcement of agency and administrative code regulations.
The Prosecution Division investigates and prosecutes all summonses issued by TLC which amounts to over 100,000 summonses each year. Under the supervision of the Director of Administrative Summonses and Data Analytics, the Data Analyst will be responsible for generating administrative violations and otherwise supporting prosecutors by providing relevant data reports and information.
Selected candidate responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Create server data sets and re-usable queries using Microsoft SQL Management Studio.
- Prepare data reports as needed using Microsoft Excel
- Download and electronically distribute various documents from various electronic data sources.
- Use an in-house web-based CRM system for importing and tracking various violations.
- Create violation templates and import files for the in-house CRM system.
- Work with appropriate parties on legally acceptable language used in generated violations.
- Contact licensees to provide technical support for various electronic data submission streams.
- Generating scheduled and on-off TLC administrative violations
- Updating various information in TAMIS system upon request
- Downloading and analyzing NYS DMV abstracts or related database information
- Suspending and unsuspending licensees’ TLC license upon request

Qualifications
1. A master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a closely related field, and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; or in a related area. 18 months of this experience must have been in an executive, managerial, administrative or supervisory capacity. Supervision must have included supervising staff performing professional work in the areas described above; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of professional experience in the areas described in "1" above, including the 18 months of executive, managerial, administrative or supervisory experience, as described in "1" above.
