The Research & Insight Team guides and inspires the whole business in their decision making through the provision of compelling Research, Insight and strategic data analysis.
In this 18‑month secondment, you will derive actionable insights from our research data—both numeric and textual—by conducting in‑depth analysis, interpreting trends, applying statistical techniques (e.g., regression), and establishing and reporting on key measures from both Heathrow’s internal and external research programmes to drive our future strategic direction.
The role requires strong analytical skills to manipulate and interpret data from multiple data sources and to deliver regular reporting to a consistent and high standard within timescales.
 

  • Delivering a series of on-going & ad-hoc analysis-based projects developing options for improvement and clear strategic recommendations.
  • Synthesising a broad range of data sources (numeric and text) to produce insights and recommendations to complement and strengthen Heathrow’s understanding of our customers.
  • Undertaking statistical analysis to generate greater value and understanding from Heathrow’s different sources of customer data.
  • Setting targets, investigating and reporting on monthly and quarterly data results including Executive KPIs linked to customer research data.
  • Designing, automating and maintaining new research data reports in Power BI that focus on Heathrow meeting its future consumer strategy.
  • Maintaining an awareness and implementing developments in data analysis techniques that would help Heathrow gain greater strategic insight from its research data.
  • Working alongside the whole Research and Insight team and wider data community to review market data sources and make recommendations to ensure all continuous and ad-hoc results are triangulated and impactful.
     
  • Understanding of working with market research data sets.
  • Highly experienced in using Excel for data analysis, and comfortable designing and working with Power BI reports.
  • Working knowledge of statistical techniques (e.g regression) using Python or R.
  • Robust numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex data and statistical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with a variety of personalities and work styles. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet targets.

 


   Ideally, you will also have: 

  • The ability to understand stakeholder data needs.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work well with minimal supervision.
  • A degree in statistics, mathematics, analytics or a related field.
  • Experience of working with text analytics and building and refining syntaxes.
  • Experience working in a regulated organization environment.

Working Location

Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow.  Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You’ll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
