Job Title: Senior Data Product Manager (Finance & Actuarial)

Location – London (Perm)/Hybrid working.

Office based 3 days per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. Additional hours may be required to support the needs of the team or attend events scheduled outside of regular working hours.

As the Senior Product Manager at Chubb, you will be responsible for working with the business to drive the data product strategy, defining the product roadmap, and ensuring successful execution. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, operations, technology and change teams, to develop and launch data products that delight our stakeholders and user. In this role you will drive strategy and accountable for the development, delivery and execution of data products, capabilities, and services by bringing together product design, customer experience and technology with an understanding of insurance and risk management fundamentals. Ensure data is stored and accessed appropriately and determine information management standards.​

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Set data product vision in line with strategic vision/business goals; ensure work and squad tasks are aligned.
  • Drives and determine data governance and information management standards.
  • Build and develop knowledge of datasets in specific domains (e.g. Finance & Actuarial), with a focus on both internal sources and external data providers.
  • Manage datasets documentation (data dictionaries, data lineage, data samples) for specific systems and domains.
  • Provide knowledge support and advice to data users.
  • Implement, monitor, and report data KPIs including data quality.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver outcomes.
  • Responsible for working with the Finance & Actuarial functions to ensure the data products are fit for purpose, robust, secure, scalable and comply with regulatory mandates and standards.
  • Develop a compelling product roadmap by partnering with senior leadership to align with business goals. 
  • Prioritize high-impact initiatives, balancing short-term targets and long-term growth.
  • Become an expert on our business: You’ll deeply understand our stakeholders, segments, and their needs. Your domain understanding will drive great outcomes based on data.
  • Inspire both your team and the company, getting buy-in to the team's projects and your roadmap and fostering a creative environment of shared ideas.
  • Oversee all stages of product development, from concept to launch, ensuring on-time, high-quality product delivery.
  • Be the key driver within your team and function to make sure we continually improve.
  • Drive and own technical product execution and delivery.

 


 

 

Experience & Skills Required:

Whilst a technical background in either data or software delivery is valuable for this role, there are several key capabilities that the successful candidate needs to be able to demonstrate which are more important than a strong technical background:

  • Product Management experience: Product management experience with fintech experience. 
  • Leadership: Having the ability to communicate a product vision, a set of objectives, as well as delivering change through teams (both internal and third party) is a key feature of the role.
  • Communication & stakeholder management: The role requires a strong ability to communicate effectively and influence at different levels of the organisation, from the individual developer in the team through to the Director level. The successful candidate needs to be able to manage complexity in prioritisation and stakeholder management, as well as being very adept at written, verbal, and listening skills.
  • Programme management – experience leading multiple squads/teams of product managers, data analysts​ and vendors, comfortable working in a complex, fast-moving environment with a wide range of different tools and technologies.
  • Analytical skills: Strong analytical skills with ability to research, assess and develop observations/findings.

Technical Capabilities

  • +5 years' hands-on experience with product development​.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google, Databricks, Snowflake)​.
  • Experience with AI including machine learning​.
  • Product management certifications​.
  • In-depth understanding of Finance tools and technologies, strong knowledge of Agile principles and processes, experience working in Value Streams and/or product development.
  • Any experience of Oracle would be highly desirable as would a BS/MS in software engineering, computer science, mathematics.
