We are seeking a Research Scientist to develop and execute digital health projects aimed at empowering people to live healthy lives throughout the world. In this role, you will work in and closely with interdisciplinary teams of product managers, engineers, analysts, clinicians, and researchers to plan and execute research and validation of novel digital approaches for measuring and improving health and wellness. The primary responsibility of this role is to work collaboratively in cross functional teams to design, conduct, and interpret studies in order to build products that help users live their healthiest lives. $177,000/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

- Design and implement studies for primary data collection, with the goal of building and validating machine learning models.
- Engage directly with data collection to develop and implement best practice methods, including site visits as needed.
- Ensure that data quality meets the requirements needed for robust product development.
- Build reproducible data collection practices with attention to detail.
- Collaborate with quantitative scientists and machine learning engineers to extract insights from complex data sets. Quantitative skills are highly valued.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams across the entire product lifecycle to drive development.
- Advanced degree in health related field with 8+ years of experience or PhD with 5+ years of experience.
- 5+ years of relevant clinical and/or research and product experience in cardiovascular disease prevention, physiology, clinical/health outcomes research, digital health technology assessment, and/or algorithm development.
- Previous hands-on experience with data collection for clinical studies.
- Experience in data review for quality assurance, including tasks such as manual review, annotation, and labeling.
- Experience in preventative health fields such as sleep, cardiovascular fitness, nutrition, or behavior change.
- Proven understanding of study design and methodology, including experimental design, survey research, and observational studies, including drafting study protocols.
- Proven collaboration skills to distill complex concepts and results into clear, concise language.
- Collaboration experience with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with digital health technologies and experience with integrating these technologies into studies for product development.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in interpreting complex data analysis results, including those from machine learning models.
- Familiarity with data collection using time-series devices such as electrocardiograms, actigraphy, or similar.
- Understanding of lifestyle and behaviors on human physiology.
- Basic coding skills in Python.
- Experience with human subjects research IRBs and/or regulatory submissions for digital health technologies and/or innovative medical or health devices.
