We are now looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our innovative Voyage Services Data & Analytics team.

The preferred location for the position is Helsinki, Finland, or Belgrade, Serbia. We offer the possibility of hybrid work.

What you will be doing

In this position, your work will include designing robust data pipelines, optimizing our data architecture, and ensuring data quality and security. On a typical day, you might start with developing scalable ETL processes and end the day troubleshooting performance issues. You will not be working on this alone, even though the work requires a high level of independence, as you will have support from our data analysts and data engineers.
For us to be the best match, we expect you to have an understanding of ETL frameworks and experience working with Microsoft SQL, SSIS and Azure. As an ideal candidate, you have gained experience from building scalable data architectures and have a degree in Computer Science or a related field. For you to succeed in the position, we hope you have strong coding and analytical competencies and are proactive and collaborative.

As a Senior Data Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

• Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
• Optimize data storage and processing solutions
• Ensure data integrity, quality, and security
• Collaborate with data analysts on data projects
• Mentor junior team members
• The role includes database administration tasks and occasional work with front-end BI tools

You will shine in this role, when you have:

• Extensive experience with SQL, SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Python
• Strong expertise in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)
• Proven ability in data pipeline optimization and troubleshooting
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• A proactive, collaborative mindset
• Experience in the Marine industry
