Role and Responsibilities

The Data ETL/Python Intern will work with our data team to assist in the design, development, and maintenance of our data pipelines and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with data engineering, Python programming, and data warehousing technologies. You will work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to real-world projects that impact our business. This role will help you to improve your skills in Python development and writing ETL processes.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • ETL Development: Assist in the design, development, and testing of ETL processes using Python and other relevant tools (e.g., SQL, Pandas,  etc.).

  • Data Extraction: Extract data from various sources, including databases, APIs, and files.

  • Data Transformation: Clean, transform, and prepare data for loading into data warehouses or other target systems.

  • Data Loading: Load data into target systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.

  • Scripting: Develop and maintain Python scripts for data processing, automation, and other tasks.

  • Database Management: Assist in managing and maintaining databases, including performing basic SQL queries and data analysis.

  • Documentation: Document ETL processes, data flows, and other technical details.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and other team members to support data-related projects.

  • Learning and Development: Learn new technologies and tools as needed, and participate in training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities.

  • Debugging: Help with debugging and resolving issues within the data pipeline, ensuring smooth data flow.

Skills and Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.  

  • Technical Skills:

    • Basic proficiency in Python programming.

    • Familiarity with SQL and relational databases.

    • Understanding of data structures and algorithms.

    • Experience with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas) is a plus.

    • Familiarity with ETL tools and concepts is a plus.

    • Knowledge of cloud platforms is a plus.

    • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude.

    • Good communication and teamwork skills.

    • Attention to detail.

    • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
