SCM (Software Configuration Management) Developer

As a technology leader across mobile, fixed and cloud networks, our solutions enable a more productive, sustainable and inclusive world.You will join the Center of Excellence (CoE) team responsible for Software Configuration Management (SCM) tools. This global role will impact all Nokia R&D business groups by ensuring the efficiency and reliability of SCM platforms.
The SCM Developer will work across multiple technologies, becoming an expert in existing platforms while also evaluating and implementing new tools, technologies, or processes. The role requires a developer mindset with a strong DevOps/CI focus, involving tool development, automation, and environment deployment to accelerate delivery.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of the SCM platform and its integrations.
- Proactively identify and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Monitor and analyze usage patterns, addressing anomalies and optimization opportunities.
- Develop tools, plugins, scripts, and automation solutions to extend platform functionality.
- Ensure compliance with project milestones and deliverables.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including service support teams and business units.
- Maintain clear documentation for developed features, tools, and processes.
Skills and Experience
- Education: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as a software developer, with exposure to DevOps and CI/CD practices.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Groovy, or Go.
- Experience with Linux, SQL, Git, Docker, and scripting.
- Proficiency in DevOps, Continuous Integration, and Automation (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible) and some Machine Learning concepts.
- Knowledge of networking, databases, and containerization.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with machine learning or data-driven development.
- Familiarity with software development and data science workflows.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable plans.
