We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Manager / Data Engineer to join our Biometrics Trial Management team within Data Science. In this role, you will develop data management frameworks and platforms, ensuring data quality and regulatory compliance, create and manage (meta-)data models for data integration and implement data management tools and pipelines. The ideal candidate has a strong data management background, a solid understanding of data engineering principles and their implementation, an affinity for working in multidisciplinary teams, and a passion for data-driven decision-making. This role will be in an international setting, working within a global company, providing the opportunity to collaborate with diverse teams across various regions.

Your key responsibilities
- Design and Implement Data Management Strategies: Develop and deploy comprehensive data management strategies and data governance frameworks, and ensure compliance with FAIR principles, data protection regulations, data standards and good data management practices
- Data Quality Management: Implement data quality frameworks and establish quality rules to ensure data accuracy and reliability
- Data Modelling and Integration: Create and manage (meta-)data models that support our data governance strategy and our data platform operational needs, and that will integrate with other data sources and feed complex analytical or machine learning workloads
- Tool Implementation: Implement and manage data management tools, pipelines and platforms, e.g. AWS, and others, to support data processing, governance and quality initiatives
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including scientific, technical, and business stakeholders, to gather requirements and deliver data solutions for their projects

You bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Management, Data Science, Computer Science or related disciplines
- Minimum of 3+ years in data management, FAIR principles and data quality or data engineering, including data lineage, cataloging, and metadata management solutions (e.g., Informatica), preferably in a large scientific organization in the industry field
- Proven ability to establish and enforce data quality standards (for example CDISC) and processes. Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) and ensuring compliance in data management practices

Solid technical skills in using various data tools and technologies, with desired programming knowledge (e.g., Python), and proficiency in data modelling, data integration, databases, pipelines, data architecture, and R&D data management systems (e.g., LIMS, electronic notebooks)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong project management and leadership capabilities. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and interact with a wide range of stakeholders

Knowledge of emerging trends and advancements in data management

Understanding of Data Mesh principles, cloud platforms, and data services and integrations is a plus
