About This Opportunity
The Medical School is looking for an experienced and driven Principal Data Analyst with a minimum of 2 years' experience in data analysis and advanced data visualisation. The ideal candidate will possess postgraduate qualifications in analytics, statistics, or a related discipline, along with a strong background in utilising Power BI for data reporting and analysis. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about converting data into actionable insights and collaborating with Medical School academics to support data-driven decision-making.
Key responsibilities will include:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data, create tailored analytical solutions, and integrate data from multiple sources for comprehensive reports.
Design, develop, and optimise Power BI reports and dashboards using M Code and DAX, ensuring data accuracy and providing actionable insights to support academic decisions.
Provide training on Power BI usage, conduct statistical analysis, and stay current with emerging trends in analytics and business intelligence technologies.

About the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences
The newly established Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences will be an interdisciplinary powerhouse of innovation and collaboration to lead integrated solutions to the needs of the communities we serve locally and globally. About You
Postgraduate qualifications (or working towards) in Analytics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
At least 2 years of practical experience in a data analysis role.
Proficiency in Power BI, including experience with M Code (Power Query) for data transformation and DAX for complex calculations.
Strong knowledge of data modelling, data visualisation best practices, and dashboard design.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, including use of formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
Experience in SQL or other data analysis tools.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
Experience with statistical analysis and ability to apply statistical methods to data.
Experience in Python or R.
Experience in higher education.
Familiarity with cloud-based platforms such as Azure or AWS.
Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and statistical modelling techniques.
