Data Engineer for ESG Data Platform

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our ESG CDP team at NN to help us design, build, deploy and run the ESG Central Data Platform solution that will deliver ESG (Environment, Society, Governance) metrics for internal and external stakeholders. Reporting on ESG metrics of the asset portfolio of NN is a key component of the reporting needs and obligations at NN. The ESG Central Data Platform delivers the data collection, aggregation and reporting functionality required by many internal and external stakeholders.

What you are going to do

ESG CDP is a solution built on Azure with Azure-native data technologies, primarily Databricks and Data Factory. We are looking for a Data Engineer with 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and Databricks.

Common activities for the Data Engineer to work on in this position are:

• Design, implement and maintain data pipelines using best practices

• Write automated unit and regression tests

• Build scalable, reusable and future proof data pipelines

• Have a close eye on developments in the cloud and data marketplace to apply innovations on our platform

• Perform code reviews of other developers

• Design and implement data storage layer with Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2

• Work on solutions for ingesting batch and streaming data and transform using Databricks Spark notebooks using Delta Lake

• Align with colleagues on solution design and architecture

• Advice on the use of the features and technologies such as Databricks Unity Catalog which could deliver business benefits

• Align with colleagues in different teams on the Product Backlog and Roadmap of the team

​Who you are

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and experience:

• 3+ years experience working on data solutions as data engineer

• 3+ years experience in working with Azure data technologies such as Data Factory and Databricks

• Multiple years experience working with Python

• Hands on experience with PySpark

• Knowledge of data engineering concepts and capable of applying this to solution design and architecture

• Experience with data modeling

• Multiple years experience in working

• Fluent in English, both verbal and in writing

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum and DevOps teams

We prefer candidates with one or more of the following skills and experience:

• Experience in working in the Financial Services industry.

• Experience with enterprise software development (Java, C#, …)
