Your Job

  • You will work in the Product division’s Data Architecture & Modelling team that currently develops the future data architecture underlying the Statista platform content and related data processing operations.

  • You will develop & monitor databases, the pipelines feeding into them and to the platform, as well as integrate them with a nascent data architecture.

  • You will also maintain the related infrastructure we need to support our operations both on premises and in the cloud (e.g. set up and configure database and Docker servers or AWS instances and services).

  • You will closely collaborate with other Data Operations teams as well as the analyst and research teams to support the division with efficient data pipeline and storage solutions to raise the overall effectiveness and efficiency of our processes. You will also collaborate with the Tech division that currently revamps the entire platform product to deliver all the data our customers want in the formats they need it.

 

Your Skills

  • You have successfully completed studies in the fields of computer science, data science, economics, mathematics, or a related field. We are open to applications from motivated lateral entrants as well.

  • You have a good or very good knowledge of and SQL. Some prior experience with Polars, SQLAlchemy, Alembic, Airflow, FastAPI, Streamlit, or Dash are nice to have, as is experience with Github, AWS, and Docker, AI and Machine Learning.

  • More importantly, you have a pioneering spirit to try and implement novel technologies and processes, that you like to dig into new topics and learn as you approach new projects. Ideally, you are always on the lookout for novel developments and like to drive the adoption of innovative technologies in our organization.

  • You have strong problem-solving skills and show strong ownership of topics and push projects independently. Particularly, you like to analyze and improve processes and engage with internal stakeholders to get an understanding of users’ needs and can independently diagnose process improvement potential and proactively suggest solutions.

  • You have the ability to describe complicated issues concisely and understandably, can efficiently communicate in writing and in person with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and possess excellent spoken and written English skills.
