Principal Data Architect

As our Principal Data Architect, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of our data landscape. In this key position, you will ensure a scalable and robust architecture that aligns with, and empowers, our vision for the data domain.

The team you will be part of:

Based at our global HQ, located in Ballerup, Denmark, you will be part of our newly established Data & Intelligence domain– and report to Director Stefan Wideland.

As part of an innovative and collaborative team, you will transform our data architecture. You will thereby collaborate across the organization with other architects and experts within data management, data governance, platform development, data engineering, data activation, BI, Analytics, GenAI enablement, to name a few.

Your contribution is appreciated, and you will be directing efforts in the following areas:

• Implementing Data Strategy: Directing the definition and operationalization of our Data Strategy, managing one or more workstreams in a cross-functional setting, with a focus on decentralized data architectures and data product thinking.

• Directing overall Data Architecture: Develop and implement a comprehensive data platform architecture that aligns with the organization's strategic goals and establish the needed structures to facilitate decision-making - including domain data architectures.

• Establish Frameworks for Data Distribution, Governance, and Activation: Develop and implement robust frameworks and principles to facilitate seamless data flows and accessibility. Focus on creating standardized processes and best practices for data integration and pipeline management. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with regulations by setting clear standards. Leverage high-quality data through these established practices to consistently generate business value, including the use of data contracts, data federation and federated data governance.

• Innovation and AI Integration: Stay updated on industry trends and technologies and manage the integration of AI into our strategic roadmaps to support future aspirations and enhance data capabilities.

• Technical Teams and Manage Architecture Projects: Provide leadership and advisory to technical teams and guide architectural decisions across projects, ensuring they meet established standards and align with business objectives.

To thrive in the role, we imagine that you:

• Extensive Knowledge of Data Technologies: You have comprehensive skills in data technologies, particularly around Cloud (Azure), Data Integration and Distribution technologies (Integration platforms, API’s, Data Products), Data storage and Management (such as, Data Warehouse, Data Lake, and Data Lakehouse), and possess a solid view of how to utilize and activate business value through Analytics and AI-technologies, with an emphasis on scalable data management.

• Proficient in Data Management Principles and Best Practices: You exhibit deep knowledge of data management principles and industry best practices to develop robust and scalable solutions, for example the design and application of Data Mesh.

• Communication and Collaboration Skills: Your communication skills effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. You are comfortable communicating and collaborating with a wide variety of business stakeholders, including Executive Management on data strategy initiatives.

• Innovative and Creative Mindset: You bring a creative approach to problem-solving, with a willingness to challenge established practices and secure innovation in data architecture and strategy.

• Leadership and Project Management Abilities: You have the capability to inspire leadership, effectively guiding technical teams and overseeing architecture projects to ensure they align with business aims and are completed effectively.
