Data Strategy Intern

The Data Strategy and Delivery team is part of the broader Data & Analytics (D&A) function. This team works closely with various departments, including marketing, IT, and customer service, to deliver data-driven insights and data products. The team is made up of several functions and squads that collaborate to manage data as an asset, enable business self-service, and facilitate a data-driven culture. An intern in the Data Strategy and Delivery team would have a dynamic and engaging role, contributing to various data-driven projects and initiatives. Here are some key responsibilities and tasks that an intern might undertake

You’ll be responsible for:  

  • Contributing to data projects by collaborating with internal data and analytics consumers to deliver end-to-end data-related projects (includes understanding project requirements, analyzing data, and providing actionable insights)

  • Developing data projects by supporting the development of reusable data products and services by operationalizing insights on the cloud data platform (includes building and deploying internal tools to solve problems or improve processes.

  • Performing collaborative research by engaging in collaborative research efforts, providing deliverables such as research insights, data assets, and visualizations to help end-users develop a better understanding of various topics.

  • Generating new ideas, challenging the status quo, taking risks, supporting change, encouraging innovation, and solving problems creatively

  • Managing deliverables and timelines for own deliverables, negotiating with internal stakeholders to meet relevant project milestones

  • Support and Contribute to Data Strategic planning and the development of roadmaps for functional areas.

  • Support Squad leaders in understanding business needs and defining scope and requirements

  • Support the implementation of pilots in the Data analytics and innovation space

You bring:  

  • You are currently enrolled in a university or college program in a relevant discipline, like computer science, cybersecurity, risk management or IT

  • Proven experience in data analysis, project management and/or business analyst

  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure and data management technologies

  • Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with fraud teams and other stakeholders.

  • Experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, and feature development within relevant industrie

  • Proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation and analysis

  • Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with other teams and other stakeholders

  • You have excellent communication skills to convey complex data insights and visualizations clearly

  • Have strong attention to detail to improve analysis and data accuracy

  • Although not required, you have some familiarity or previous experience with the following:

    • Understanding of the payments/banking industry

Workstyle: Hybrid (3 days on-site)

Location: Toronto

Term: May to August 2025

Duration: Monday – Friday
