The Opportunity

We're looking for a Commercial Insight Analyst to join our Group IT Procurement team on a full time, permanent basis. This a fantastic opportunity for someone who is good with data, knows how to gather it, and can use tools to visualize it.

Your new role

Reporting to the Commercial Insight Lead, you'll be providing top-notch analysis and reporting on data quality, governance, and commercial activities to help deliver actionable insights within Group IT Procurement.

Working with cross- functionally with Group IT Procurement and wider IT team, you'll be great at building relationships and connecting with others - together you'll streamline processes and support effective risk management that fits end-user needs.

Other responsibilities:

  • Support Commercial Insight Lead with data reporting responsibilities across IT Risk Governance, Project Workflow Management and Commercial Resource Consumption.
  • Maintain, monitor, and manage monthly reporting responsibilities to ensure Management Information is up-to-date and presents an accurate picture of activity to enable effective decision making.
  • Strive to verify all information obtained and create firm links to the source to accurately assess data governance and identify issues and appropriate action.
  • Facilitate the identification and documentation of reporting and data requirements for work activities, projects etc.
  • Continuous improvement and effective response to user requests/enquiries. 
  • Contribute to developing awareness of data governance and commercial insight across the business
  • Participate in internal meetings to share and develop knowledge and best practice.
  • Contribute to the development of the Commercial Insight Team’s direction and strategy, ensuring key issues are considered during planning.



About you

  • Analysis and/or data management skills.
  • Experience in the use of spreadsheets and relational database concepts.
  • Experience in partnering with multiple stakeholders on their requirements, setting clear expectations to support timely delivery.
  • Time-management and organisational skills.
  • Understanding of requirement capture and management tools and their capabilities (e.g. JIRA).
  • Knowledge of ETL processes and disciplines
  • Experience of working with Power BI (or a similar tool) to interrogate a wide variety of large volume data sources.
  • Experience working with a variety of methods and software tools to analyse and measure data.
