Software Development Engineer, Web Information Systems

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our AI team and work on supporting cutting-edge generative AI projects.

As a Software Engineer on the Amazon Information team, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining the systems that empower Amazon's ability to understand and interact with web content. This position requires creativity, passion and experience building innovative solutions to complex technical problems.


Key job responsibilities
- Develop data pipelines and infrastructure to support petabyte-scale datasets throughout the ML model development lifecycle, from training to production deployment
- Work closely with scientists and other engineers to rapidly prototype and deploy new ML models
- Optimize architecture for performance, scale, resilience and cost efficiency
- Write high quality, well-tested production code in languages like Python, Java, Scala.

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
