Lidl Digital is the digital, online heart of Lidl. We are the system provider for the Lidl online shops in seven countries so far and offer additional services across the whole of Europe. Our aim is to constantly develop our offers so as to best link the in-store business to online commerce. An important element of the innovative omnichannel approach is the Lidl Plus customer benefit program. Exciting offers, such as travel, photos, mobile phone tariffs and green electricity, round off the comprehensive product and service range.

What you'll do

As a Data Scientist at Schwarz Digits, you

  • develop innovative and data-driven solutions which create tangible value for customers, suppliers, and co-workers.
  • are part of a growing data community covering the entire range of e-commerce topics in data science as e.g. recommendation engines, customer journey, supply chain forecasts and beyond.
  • work closely together with business units, data engineers, data scientists and DevOps engineers.
  • are responsible for applying technical knowledge in data science, but you also consult and enable other business units at Schwarz Digits.
  • take over responsibility in executing projects – from ideation to project planning and solution design to implementation.
  • implement data science pipelines and master their model deployment as well as the life cycle of their artifacts in an up-to-date cloud tool stack.
  • work in an agile and interdisciplinary team to support our mission to bring data-driven decision-making in the company to a new leve.

What you'll need

  • Graduate degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, informatics, computer science, engineering, quantitative economics or a related field.
  • At least three years of proven project experience in analytics, data science or consulting in the field.
  • You are capable of quickly understanding business processes, know how to translate these into technical models and how to present your results targeted to your audience.
  • Sound knowledge in at least two of the following fields: statistics, machine learning, optimization, operations research, simulations.
  • Proficiency in Python as well as SQL knowledge is required.
  • You are aware of modern deployment and lifecycle strategies of ML models and the corresponding tools.
  • Experience in running data science applications in cloud environments (preferably Azure/Databricks) is a plus as well as knowledge in Spark.
  • Working experience in e-commerce is an advantage.
  • First experience in Frontend developing would be beneficial.
  • Fluency in English is required, German language skills are an advantage.
