Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.

Unit Position Summary

Performs a range of research tasks in support of the OPTML lab, focusing on the design, development, and evaluation of trustworthy machine learning algorithms and systems. Responsibilities include conducting experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to the advancement of robust, secure, and efficient ML methodologies.

The candidate will be responsible for conducting research on trustworthy machine learning algorithms and systems, with a focus on bias detection and enhancing robustness, security, and efficiency. This includes designing, developing, and implementing novel ML models and generative AI techniques, as well as performing experiments and analyzing results to validate research findings. The role also involves collaborating with team members in the OPTML lab and other external collaborators, contributing to research publications, and assisting in the preparation of technical reports and presentations.

Desired Qualifications

A BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Proficiency in machine learning and generative AI, with strong programming skills in languages such as Python and PyTorch. Experience with oral and written skills.
