The Opportunity at Komodo Health

As a Technical Program Manager, Analytics Engineer, you will contribute to the implementation and deployment of complex healthcare data analytics solutions. This role requires independent thinking, resourcefulness, limited oversight, and the ability to deliver with speed.
Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have…
60-70% of the role
- Implemented data pipelines between source and target systems using various technical methods
- Operated as an ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) and Analytics Engineer to develop, maintain, and curate data sources for consumption
- Worked with cross-functional stakeholders to plan, schedule, develop and deploy migration efforts to Snowflake data warehouse
- Developed models from landing database to various destination schemas (incremental tables, views, and tables)
30-40% of the role
- Successfully coordinated and tracked multiple project timelines, ensuring key milestones are met and projects are delivered on schedule.
- Identified and suggested improvements in our engineering and product development processes leading to increased efficiency
- Enhanced collaboration between engineering, product, and operations teams,
- Developed and refined project reporting mechanisms, providing critical data insights that aid strategic decision-making.
You will accomplish these outcomes through the following responsibilities…
60-70% of the role
- (25%) Requirements Gathering: Partner with stakeholders to build a set of requirements in order to build effective and optimized data products that power dashboards and reporting products.
- (25%) ETL Development: Develop and optimize ETL processes to load data into our data stores, then implement efficient testing and validation to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data
- (20%) Technical Skills: Use scripting (Python or another language) to automate repeatable tasks.
- (20-25%) Technical Skills: Strong SQL skills and performance tuning; develop data models (using structure and unstructured data) and implement best practices for data warehousing
- (10%) Create governance, guidance, code reviews and access controls so that we maintain consistency, quality and business confidentiality as we scale dashboarding across our org.
- (10%) Design and create visually appealing and intuitive dashboards and reports using BI tools (Tableau) as well as build out best practices for administering our Tableau instance.
- (10%) Present complex data insights in a clear and concise manner to non-technical and technical stakeholders.
30-40% of the role
- Assist in managing and tracking project schedules and deliverables across the engineering and product teams.
- Analyze existing processes and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and document requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Support business operations managers in organizing and facilitating project meetings and reviews.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on project status and health, including risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
- Participate in developing and implementing new systems and features, providing operational support where needed.
What you bring to Komodo Health (required):
- Proficiency in a programming language such as JavaScript or Python (and other languages that allow you to perform your role).
- Some experience with software code versioning using a tool such as GitHub and submitting code for pull reviews.
- Some course-level experience with basic data structures.
- Open-minded and coachable in developing and deploying code as part of a team.

- Technology background, especially in cloud-based architecture with a deep understanding of software development and a passion for data and analytics
- Experience with linear and non-linear regression models and predictive forecasts using open source frameworks
- Experience with end-to-end data and algorithm pipeline and DAG development as well as orchestration tools such as Snowflake, DBT, Git, Airflow, Data Science IDEs, etc
- High proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience with AWS Lambda functionality and AWS security
The pay range for each job posting reflects a minimum and maximum range of annual base pay that we reasonably expect to pay for this position within the US. We carefully consider multiple business-related factors when determining compensation, including job-related skills, work experience, geographic work location, relevant training and certifications, business needs and market demands.
The starting annual base pay for this role is listed below. This position may be eligible for performance-based bonuses as determined in the Company’s sole discretion and in accordance with a written agreement or plan. This role may also be eligible for equity awards. In addition, this role is eligible for benefits including, but not limited to, comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance; flexible time off and holidays; 401(k) with company match; disability insurance and life insurance; and leaves of absence in accordance with applicable state and local laws and regulations and company policy.
San Francisco Bay Area and New York City:$56.25—$76.44 USDAll Other US Locations: $49.04—$66.35 USDWhere You’ll Work
Komodo Health has a hybrid work model; we recognize the power of choice and importance of flexibility for the well-being of both our company and our individual Dragons. Roles may be completely remote based anywhere in the country listed, remote but based in a specific region, or local (commuting distance) to one of our hubs in San Francisco, New York City, or Chicago with remote work options.
