Right now, we’re looking for a Senior Developer Advocate to join our team who shares our passion for forward-thinking and innovative approaches.
About this team:
We’re a diverse and globally-distributed team of about ten people. The team consists of a wide range of experiences which match our target audience’s experience. This department function reports into Product, but collaborates closely with Marketing, Support, Customer Success, etc. We are looking for a candidate who can collaborate closely with people within different business functions to ensure great outcomes for our technical communities.
Our Developer Advocates are creative enablers and sharers of technical information! You create and deliver content about our products to our customers and the wider technical communities. Within Aiven we are “customer zero”, trying out new products, features and integrations to represent the developer’s interests and make sure we can create great resources showing off what is possible.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and collaborative Senior Developer Advocate to join our Developer Relations team. The Senior Developer Advocate empowers data and software practitioners to unleash the full power of the trusted data & AI platform for everyone! Their role involves fostering an active and vibrant community through support and outreach efforts. Additionally, they will serve as a bridge between cutting-edge AI technologies - such as LangChain, Hugging Face, and Anthropic - and Aiven’s platform, broadening awareness of how these tools can be integrated and used.

What You'll Do:
- Produce comprehensive technical content in the format of extensive tutorials, step-by-step guides, and insightful technical editorials.
- Produce educational videos and live streams tailored for developers.
- Engage with Aiven customers and prospects to help accelerate their success with the Aiven platform.
- Create and deliver presentations at meetups and conferences aligned with Aiven’s event strategies.
- Drive adoption of the Aiven platform across practitioner audiences through engaging interactions.
- Develop and deliver public workshops on open-source data platform technologies.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including product, sales, and marketing.
What We're Looking For:

- Technical background in databases, data streaming platforms, and cloud computing
- Technical knowledge and hands-on experience with modern AI technologies such as LangChain, Hugging Face, Anthropic, OpenAI, and other LLM ecosystems.
- Familiarity with Vector Databases
- Awareness of industry trends and emerging tools in the AI space
- Demonstrated background in creating content for a technical audience
- Proven experience in a developer advocate or related role, with a strong focus on data technologies.
- Experience in public speaking and presenting technical concepts.
- Experience in participating in online communities
- Experience working across various teams
- Awareness of trends in cloud computing and data systems
- Interest in technology, software engineering, and data systems
- Exceptional ability to generate original content and ideas in the data domain.
- Familiarity with forums, social media platforms, and content management systems
- Ability and willingness to work under own initiative
