Senior Data Analyst

Description

Primary Function

The Senior Data Analyst will serve as the organization’s data analytics leader, solve complex application issues when needed, and provide data extracts/reports to fill business requirements. The successful candidate will build and maintain the data foundation required to meet the digital strategic objectives defined by senior leadership.

Primary Responsibilities

• Be the organization’s data analytics/business intelligence technical leader.
• Always on the lookout for better way to optimize to use of data across the organization.
• Utilize statistical methods, data mining, and predictive modeling techniques to analyze large datasets, uncovering actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
• Extract, transform, and cleanse raw data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality and integrity for analysis.
• Build and use Data Warehouses to query and analyze large datasets, create reports, dashboards and visualization to communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Create compelling dashboards and reports using data visualization tools to effectively communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Lead and manage data analysis projects, including scoping, design, execution, and reporting, while providing guidance to other Digital Solutions team members.
• Drive the implementation of data-driven solutions for process optimization.
• Translate data insights into actionable recommendations to drive business improvements across various departments.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify key business questions, understand data needs, and align data analysis with strategic objectives.
• Proficiently use data analysis tools and programming languages like SQL, Python, R, and statistical software to manipulate and analyze large datasets.
• Write complex SQL queries to retrieve data.
• Create process flow diagrams and system design documents to communicate technical requirements.
• Translate complex technical concepts into language that stakeholders can understand.
• Identify issues with existing tools, processes, and data sources and voice suggestions to the team to improve accuracy, decrease latency, and reduce inefficiencies.
• Applies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects.
• Ask the right questions to draw the information needed to develop effective and efficient processes.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance business processes by automating workflows.

Requirements

Experience

• Proven experience 7+ years as a Business Analyst or similar role.
• Knowledge of data analytics and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Power BI, Tableau)
• Proficiency with Cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) for accessing and extracting data stored in cloud-based systems.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in data science, business or data Analytics, computer science, information systems, engineering or a related field.

Knowledge/Skills

• Strong knowledge of database structures and data warehouses.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, troubleshooting, and critical thinking skills.
• Attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Skilled in performing data analysis and writing queries on large data sets using SQL.
• Expert at coordinating and performing data testing and validation.
• Highly motivated individual with a sense of ownership and attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Thoroughly understand the role and the importance of delivering value to the business.
• Strong decision-making abilities.
• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and listening skills
