The EPIC Credit Risk Manager we are looking for:
Will be reporting to the Credit Risk Officer. This position will be responsible for credit origination policies, fraud prevention strategies, customer segmentation, and risk-based pricing. You will work closely with data science, product, compliance, and finance teams to enhance risk models, optimize portfolio performance, and ensure regulatory compliance. This role requires a deep understanding of fintech risk management, data analytics, and automation to enable scalable and sustainable growth.
As a Credit Risk Manager, you will:
? Design and implement credit risk policies for new and existing customers, balancing growth and risk.
? Establish credit approval criteria, leveraging alternative data sources and automated underwriting processes.
? Continuously refine loan origination and credit decisioning strategies based on risk performance insights.
? Develop and maintain fraud prevention strategies to detect and mitigate identity fraud, transaction fraud, and synthetic identities.
? Oversee and enhance KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) frameworks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
? Collaborate with data science and engineering teams to implement AI-driven fraud detection models.
? Develop and optimize risk segmentation models to differentiate customer creditworthiness and tailor lending decisions.
? Leverage machine learning and alternative data (e.g., open banking, behavioral data) for enhanced risk assessment.
? Continuously refine risk-based customer lifecycle strategies (e.g., approval, limit assignment, and collections).
? Implement risk-based pricing models, ensuring competitive and profitable credit offerings.
? Work with finance and product teams to optimize interest rates, fees, and credit terms based on customer risk profiles.
? Monitor portfolio performance and adjust pricing strategies to align with market trends and risk appetite.
? Conduct deep-dive analysis of credit portfolio performance, identifying trends, anomalies, and risk concentrations.
? Build and refine loss forecasting models to predict charge-offs, delinquency rates, and expected credit losses.
? Implement proactive risk mitigation strategies to optimize portfolio health and business profitability.
? Ensure compliance with lending regulations such as FCRA, ECOA, Basel III, GDPR, and other applicable laws.
? Partner with compliance teams to align credit risk strategies with regulatory reporting and governance frameworks.
? Maintain proper documentation and policies to support audits, risk reviews, and board reporting.
Requirements? 5+ years in credit risk management, preferably in fintech, digital lending, BNPL, credit cards, or payments.
? Bachelor’s in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field (Masters/MBA is a plus).
? Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other data analytics tools for risk analysis.
? Experience with credit scoring models, customer segmentation, and loss forecasting.
? Knowledge of fraud detection tools, KYC/AML frameworks, and transaction monitoring systems.
? Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance frameworks.
? Ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable risk strategies.
? Proven ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, finance, and compliance teams.
? Ability to thrive in a fast-paced fintech environment with rapidly evolving challenges.
? Ability to pay close attention to detail and be self-motivated
? Ability to multitask and excel in a fast-paced environment
? Beginner / Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft excel
