What will you be doing?

Working as part of the data production team you will be responsible for assessing data from different sources, performing gap analyses and processing of POS data as per company standards, following all process steps and ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Contribute to a culture of excellence across system, processes, standard & communication.

Most of the work will be undertaken using Excel and proprietary data management tools. The work also involves the matching of both data values and text, so you will also need to demonstrate that you are both numerate and literate with a strong understanding of South Africa retailer data sources and the local market. Some research using the internet and other online and offline sources will be required. You will need to be resourceful and be able to work your way through multiple data management tasks quickly and efficiently without detailed supervision.

 

Job Responsibilities

Operational

• Ensuring that data is received, loaded, maintained, and validated into the IRI systems on time and accurately.

• Onboarding of any data sources (analysis of the raw data, engaging BT/OPS/CPG/Retail, building of loader processes).

• Data query troubleshooting and issue resolution.

• Able to work extra hours as and when required to ensure deadlines are met.

• Prioritising and effective time management, through a systematic approach to task completion.

• Contribute to the continuous systems and process improvements for loading and onboarding activities.

 

Engagement and Deliverables

• Maintain a high level of satisfaction within the team and across other business units such as BT/OPS/CPG/Retail.

• Ensure markets are correctly setup and maintained.

• Ensure compliance with all the checking processes for the loads and tasks assigned.

• Manage data extracts for retailer vendors.

• Assist on retailer data access agreements (data sign offs) processes with internal and retailer stakeholders.

 

Relationship Management

• Build strong relationship across all departments and regions involved in the delivery of Circana services.

• Act as the single point of contact for the Data Input Team and assist with escalations when required

• Regular WIP communication with internal and external stakeholders.

• Ensure all communication is accurate and on time.

• Manage any raw data changes (reloads, data feed changes, etc)

• Query raw data issues with external Data Agencies and retailers.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Information Management, or similar, or demonstrated equivalent experience.

• Project Management capabilities

• Proven understanding of database structures and data models

• Have intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills

• SQL and/or Python skills will be advantageous

• Excellent attention to detail and must have a track record of high-quality outcomes (non-negotiable)

• Strong problem-solving skills and a solutions focused approach

• Be able to quickly and methodically search using a variety of research tools

• Be systematic in your approach to task completion

• High quality communication skills - written and spoken
