Knowesis, a trusted advisor, seeks a Data Scientist to provide innovative, professional, technical, and administrative support services to the AF Surgeon General’s Office of Studies and Analyses in the areas of strategy, analytics, operations, and medical, scientific, and social science research
This position requires a Secret Clearance and requires U.S. Citizenship (applicants without proof of US citizenship will not be considered due to the position’s security clearance requirement).
A successful candidate will have experience in predictive analytics and the ability to visualize and communicate their findings to senior leadership. They will support senior government executives in the development of the organization's strategy and business processes with regard to a medical force that is ready to support both active duty and humanitarian efforts across the globe.
This position is a full-time remote work position and requires the candidate to have dependable connectivity and an isolated work area that adheres to the teleworking requirements of the US government.
The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
- Possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and be highly detail oriented.
- Work in a remote (telework) environment within the United States, to include appropriate and stable connectivity and an isolated work area that adheres with teleworking requirements.
- Work independently or with similarly remotely located team members using Microsoft Teams and OneDrive supporting a collaborative environment.
- Use statistical methods to analyze and interpret business and clinical performance data and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Compile reports, charts, and tables, perform sensitivity analysis, and provide input/guidance on statistical presentation for a variety of products.
- Translate data analysis findings and research principles into presentations, create dashboards visualizing complex models and techniques, and manipulate and transform data through the use of R, Python, and SQL based queries.
- Serve as domain knowledgeable resource in advising the project team and client on tools and techniques to improve the development, collection, analysis, and reporting of information.
- Client interaction will be regular and sustained, encompassing both formal presentations and informal, routine communication.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with one or more analytic platforms – Tableau, PowerBI, R, Python, SAS, SQL.
- Experience using Microsoft 365 products to include Teams and OneDrive in a collaborative environment.
- Strong analytical skills (use of SQL scripts, R or Python to analyze data).
- Ability to facilitate client meetings and sessions to define client processes and needs.
- Strong presentation development and writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of health care data and experience using Tableau, R or Python and T-SQL scripting.
- Active Secret clearance
