Senior Data Engineer 

Purpose:

Senior Data Engineer for Marketing Automation is a role within JTI’s marketing and data ecosystems, bridging advanced marketing automation capabilities with the robust infrastructure of the Central Data Lake Platform (CDLP) and the Digital Eco System (DES) platform. 
You will work at the intersection of marketing technology, data engineering, and campaign management, designing solutions that enable seamless data flow between marketing platforms and JTI’s central data ecosystem. A critical aspect of this role is a strong understanding of data engineering principles and the ability to work with Azure-based data technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Databricks, and Synapse Analytics. This expertise will allow the candidate to collaborate with the CDLP team to build and optimize data pipelines that support campaign execution and performance measurement.
In addition to developing custom workflows, templates, and automation scripts within Adobe Campaign, this role will focus heavily on integrating marketing data with Azure-based platforms. 

Responsibilities:

Development and Maintenance of Marketing Automation Workflows and Campaigns:

• Build, test, and maintain marketing automation workflows, consumer journeys, and multi-channel campaigns in Adobe Campaign, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and efficient.
• Collaborate with IT security, Enterprise Architecture (EA), and Data&Analytics (D&A) teams to ensure workflows comply with security and technical requirements.
• Design and document campaign workflows, automation processes, and platform topologies, providing recommendations for optimal delivery methodologies.
• Perform unit and integration testing for campaign workflows; oversee UAT phases and resolve bugs before deployment. Coordinate cutover plans and rollouts to production environments.

Integration with DES and CDLP platforms:

• Collaborate with the DES and D&A teams to integrate consumer and marketing data from the Azure Data Lake, ensuring seamless data flow into Adobe Campaign for advanced targeting and personalization..
• Enhance data pipelines and automation for better efficiency and scalability.  
• Ensure data integrations are accurate and available for campaigns.  
• Resolve data pipeline and workflow issues using tools like ServiceNow, Jira, or DevOps.

Coordination and Oversight of Development Activities:

• Collaborate with internal and external development teams to implement new features and campaigns while effectively distributing workloads.
• Perform code and peer reviews for campaign workflows and scripts to ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Coordinate unit testing and manage environment migrations for smooth transitions between development, UAT, and production.
• Onboard and manage external consultants, verifying timesheets and resource use for projects.

Campaign and Data Quality Management:

• Ensure campaign workflows and data usage meet governance policies and business rules.
• Support data cleansing and preparation for campaigns to avoid quality issues.
• Track campaign performance metrics and implement improvements for accurate reporting and better consumer experiences.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in Adobe Campaign development or similar marketing automation roles.
• 5+ years of experience in Data and Analytics from a modelling and reporting standpoint.
• 5+ exposure to IT architecture and solutions for data flows among systems and applications.
• Experience in delivering solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform with a special emphasis on data solutions and services.
• Python, PySpark, SQL
• Knowledge in testing and validating Analytical solutions
• Good understanding of web development (JavaScript, HTML, and CSS)
• Data Engineering skills on Azure stuck (Databricks, Data Factory, Data Lake)
• Very good understanding of Azure PaaS management and resource monitoring 
• CI/CD experience and DevOps
• Strong analytical skills and troubleshooting skills
