Job Description

As part of the team, you will have the following responsibilities:

•  Collect primary and secondary data needed for the creation of the deliverables;
•  Support data integration/validation;
• Overcoming data gaps and enriching data analytics;
• Provide useful data insights to support continuous improvement and better decision making;
• Develop and maintain the deliverable stemming from the research activities, under all the required format as requested by the manager (documents, research papers, datasets, presentations, interactive dashboards, etc.);
• Build the deliverables using knowledge stemming from the field of economics, econometrics, finance, business strategy and management, structured and assembled according to the modelling practices.
• Maintenance and further development of the model available in DG-AE, which leverages IT tools used in Model Based System Engineering, SQL language, visualization packages by;
•       - Consistently enriching the structured data model developed by DG-AE with new data;
•       - Defining the required new entities, attributes, and relationships in the model, and creating the relevant datasets to feed the model.;
• Support the meetings with the relevant stakeholders, both internals to the Agency and externals;
• Collaborate with other ESA functions to expand the model and develop relevant services and deliverables, as prioritized;
• Deliver statistical analysis on the data available, including, if needed, multivariate analysis, principal component analysis, factor analysis and cluster analysis;
• Provide expertise for the other activities of the team, in the form of knowledge sharing, or direct involvement in the development of deliverables;

Qualifications

You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:

• Master´s degree in a relevant discipline is required;
• Solid experience in data analytics and business intelligence;
• Proven experience in providing services on modelling activities according to the Model Based System Engineering approach, including utilisation of frameworks derived by macroeconomics, microeconomics, econometrics, and finance;
• Proven knowledge in providing services on statistical analysis and data analytics;
• Mastering of IT tools as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, SQL Sequel, Python, R;
• Flexibility and responsiveness;
• Driven by curiosity to seek new opportunities for improvement;
• Striving for excellence;
• Knowledge base of the space industries, and familiarity with the setup of international organizations, and public organizations in general;
• Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.

Additional Information

The position is to be filled in Noordwijk, The Netherlands or Paris, France.
