Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineering Manager with over 15 years of expertise in building sophisticated data architectures and leading high-performance teams. In this role, you’ll drive the creation and optimization of scalable data solutions, integrating technologies like SQL Server, SSIS, ADF, and Azure Gen2 Data Lake. You’ll craft our data strategy, improve system performance, and lead data-driven decision-making across the business.

Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead a dedicated team of data engineers, providing mentorship and encouraging growth.
  • Establish clear goals, offer mentorship, and cultivate a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and high-quality execution.

• Data Architecture & Infrastructure

  • Architect powerful, high-performance data solutions, focusing on data warehousing, lakes, and flawless ETL pipelines.
  • Drive the integration of sophisticated data sources using technologies like SQL Server, SSIS, ADF, and Azure Data Lake Gen2.

• Strategic Data Solutions

  • Partner with business units to align data strategies with organizational objectives, ensuring our data infrastructure supports key initiatives.
  • Continuously assess and implement modern tools and processes to enhance data accessibility, scalability, and quality.

• Optimize Data Pipelines & Integrations

  • Supervise the design and optimization of efficient ETL processes, ensuring high-speed data transfers and minimal downtime.
  • Apply performance enhancements and tackle issues, maintaining pipeline reliability.

• Cloud & Azure Expertise

  • Own the adoption of Azure technologies, demonstrating Azure Data Factory and Gen2 Data Lake to build flexible, cost-effective data solutions.
  • Own the migration of data systems to the cloud while ensuring performance, security, and data compliance.

• Performance Monitoring & Issue Resolution

  • Apply innovative tools to supervise pipeline health and quickly find opportunities for optimization.
  • Ensure system performance is optimized and issues are resolved proactively.

• Collaboration & Customer Engagement

  • Collaborate across departments to understand data requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical teams and non-technical partners.

• Data Governance & Compliance

  • Carry out data governance policies to ensure consistency, privacy, and compliance.
  • Champion high data quality standards and supervise the security of all data systems.

Qualifications:

• demonstrated ability in data engineering, specializing in data warehouse design, ETL processes, and data integration.
• Shown leadership experience in leading and developing a data engineering team.
• Deep understanding of data architecture principles and pipeline performance optimization.
• Good communication skills, capable of explaining sophisticated data issues to both technical and non-technical team members.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
