We’re dedicated to giving you a meaningful learning experience, where you’ll grow, gain valuable skills, and connect with other passionate professionals who share our mission.

Internship Opportunity

As part of World Vision International’s global IT department, the AI, Data, and Emerging Technologies team is on a mission to revolutionise how we use data and AI. We team up with various groups to ensure our data and AI practices are ethical and impactful. Our approach? Start small, run pilots, and focus on projects that can make a big difference.

By diving deep into World Vision International’s data landscape, we spot risks and prioritise key areas. We love experimenting with AI and generative AI to uncover both risks and exciting benefits, and we recommend smart policies along the way. Plus, we champion best practices in data analysis, manage World Vision’s data platform, and empower our business units to take charge of their own data analytics.

What You'll Do:

Microsoft Copilot 365 and ChatGPT Team pilots

  • Data analysis: Compile and assess data on AI tool use and pilot participant feedback

  • Data visualisation: Use data visualisation tools to clearly present AI pilot findings, insights, and patterns

  • Develop recommendations: Work with the team to make data-driven recommendations as we transition to a broader implementation of AI within World Vision

World Vision’s AI implementation project

  • Research: Conduct research on emerging AI trends and technologies

  • Content development: Help develop, refine, and test AI learning content and communications

  • Knowledge sharing: Organise materials for World Vision’s AI champions/AI community of practice platforms and intranet/communications platforms

Other AI, data, and data analytics projects

  • Provide support as interested or needed

What You’ll Bring:

  • Initiative and attention to detail: You're a self-starter with a keen eye for detail, great at multitasking, agile, and driven by curiosity. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • AI experience: You're familiar with tools like Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or other similar Gen-AI tools.

  • Data proficiency: You can understand and integrate data from multiple sources. You know your way around data visualisation tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.

  • Collaborative team player: You thrive in a virtual environment, work well with others to achieve common goals, ask questions, and present findings confidently.

  • Independence and time management: You're comfortable working independently to achieve project goals and meet deadlines.

  • Clear communication: You can effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences, both verbally and in writing.

What You Need to Know:

Details

  • Location: Remote within the US. You must be physically located in one of the following states where WVI is registered as an employer: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia (Washington D.C.), Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

  • Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analysis, Data Science, Communications, or related fields.

  • Internship Cohort Dates: 27 May – 22 August. 

  • Stipend: this internship is unpaid, but all US-based interns receive a monthly stipend of $800.

  • Hours: Full-time and part-time opportunities are available (24-40 hours/week)

Eligibility

All candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • At least 18 years of age.

  • Eligible to work in the United States (US Citizen/resident or F1-student visa) and have a valid US Social Security Number.

  • Able to commit to at least 24 hours per week for the entire internship period: 27 May – 22 August. 

  • Current student or recent graduate from an undergraduate programme (within 2 years).

  • Adhere to World Vision International’s Christian Statement of Faith.

  • Willingness to use own electronic devices for internship purposes, and disposition to let WVI install endpoint security software in those devices.
