Job Description:

Our team provides reporting, research support and data-driven insights to help leaders, HR, managers and other partners make better decisions about people. We’re looking for someone to act in two capacities:  (1) oversee the global employee listening program and (2) act as a people analytics advisor.

This role will report directly to the AVP – People & Work Analytics. To succeed in this role you need a curious mind and a love of numbers. Come help us reimagine how HR works with data.

What will you do?

Initially, most of your time will spent acting as the Global Employee Listening Lead.

  • You will be responsible for leading the end-to-end implementation of our global employee listening program. This includes quarterly check-ins, lifecycle surveys (e.g., New Hire, Exit, etc.) and other ad-hoc surveys

  • You will develop and maintain a detailed project plan that covers all aspects of the program, such as data integration, configuration, testing, deployment, training, and change management

  • You will work closely with the People Analytics Leader, the Technical Leads, the HR team, the IT team, and the vendor to plan, execute, and monitor the project deliverables and timelines

  • You will enable the HR team, leaders, and other strategic partners to effectively interpret and act on listening insights through toolkits, training, and self-service analytics to drive data fluency and impact

The second core function of the role is acting as a People Analytics advisor.

  • You will be accountable to design and lead innovative strategic analytics initiatives, people research, and experimentation. This will include the development of targeted scorecards and the use of advanced analytics approaches (e.g. predictive analytics, text analytics, generative AI, organizational network analytics (ONA), etc.)

  • You will partner with the People Analytics Leader, HRBPs and business leaders to support deliverables for special projects related to talent strategy and deliver impact by transforming data and analysis into insights and recommendations

  • You will focus on key issues such as predicting great hires or employees at risk of leaving and supporting Sun Life’s employee engagement, culture management and other strategic goals and objectives

  • You will be a key point of contact and subject matter expert for ad hoc people questions and will help others to tell stories with data

What do you need to succeed?

  • 10 years of relevant experience with quantitative/qualitative analytics and/or predictive analytics applicable to people research in an organizational setting

  • Specific experience with program implementation desired

  • Expert knowledge and experience in data analytics and application in business strategy for effective decision making

  • Strong background in research design, visualization techniques, and analysis approaches in which you manage and analyze both structured and unstructured data

  • Experience with advanced statistical methods around hypothesis testing, clustering, machine learning predictions, and text mining

  • Strong understanding of tools and languages such as Python, R, and Tableau, and in the design and implementation of data pipelines that support the continuous delivery of insight

  • Excellent written and verbal communication as well as the ability to effectively package and present information to senior business leaders and HR professionals

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, organize and accomplish objectives independently and proactively

  • Adept in managing multiple deadlines, teams and direct and indirect leaders

  • As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology, Social Sciences, Economics, Statistics or similar education

What's in it for you?

  • The opportunity to move along a variety of career paths with amazing networking potential

  • Flexible Benefits from the day you join to meet the needs of you and your family

  • We’re committed to creating an inclusive and respectful environment. Our goal is to make sure all our employees have the chance to live up to their full potential

  • We’re honoured to be recognized as a 2023 Best Workplaces in Ontario by Great Place to Work® Canada
