The Opportunity
Join us at the University of the Sunshine Coast as a Technical Business Analyst, Data Governance, where your expertise will shape the future of our data governance and privacy management strategies. Leveraging your deep knowledge of data governance strategies, technologies, and systems, you will guide our institution towards enhanced data integrity and compliance across all university portfolios and campuses. Collaborating closely with key stakeholders, you'll lead the development of a robust data governance framework tailored to our unique needs, promoting compliance, enhancing data usability for research and administrative purposes, and fostering a culture of innovation in data management practices. This key role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our strategic performance and community engagement through modernised data governance initiatives.

You will
- deliver a university-wide data governance platform to enhance data management and oversight;
- shape durable, fit-for-purpose solutions through expertise in data architecture and management; and
- foster collaboration and alignment in data practices to support the university’s goals.

You will possess:
- Hands-on experience with data management tools and technologies, including Microsoft’s suite, to implement and maintain data governance initiatives effectively.
- A talent for analysing complex data challenges, uncovering solutions, and driving strategies that enhance data quality and governance.
- Skilled in collaborating with diverse stakeholders, bridging the gap between technical and non-technical teams to ensure seamless adoption of data governance practices.
- Knowledgeable in assessing and mitigating data-related risks while ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and university policies.
- Experienced in leading change management initiatives and creating engaging training resources to build a culture of data governance and boost data literacy.
- Creative and solution-focused, with strong problem-solving, negotiation, and innovation skills.
