About the position

Type of contract: Fixed-term contract with the possibility of permanent extension
The Global Data Steward is responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, and accuracy of master data across the organization. This role involves collaborating with various departments to establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures. The Global Data Steward will play a critical role in maintaining data integrity and supporting data-driven decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of master data across all systems.
- Collaborate with business units to define data requirements and establish data quality metrics.
- Monitor and report on data quality issues and work with stakeholders to resolve them.
- Conduct regular data audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Provide training and support to data users on data governance best practices.
- Participate in data governance committees and working groups.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data governance and master data management.
So, what does it take to be successful in this role?
- Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Previous experience in data governance, data management, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
- Experience with data quality tools and technologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and integrity.
- Certification in Data Governance or Data Management (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) – would be an asset.
- Fluent English is a must.
