Jr. Data Engineer

The Job

We are looking for a Junior Data Engineer to join us at HelloFresh Nordics. Working in the Operations Tech team, you will support the design, build, and maintenance of data-driven solutions that impact our daily operations. Working closely with experienced team members, you’ll help develop reliable data pipelines, internal applications, and infrastructure—all while growing your technical skills and operational understanding.

• This role is in-office at our Nordic HQ at Islands Brygge, Copenhagen.
• You’ll join a close-knit team of four engineers, one student assistant, and a Technical Product Manager.

You will…

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using Databricks or Airflow on Kubernetes.
• Develop and deploy Streamlit applications, backed by Postgres, to streamline operational workflows.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-tested Python code, building a strong foundation in software best practices.
• Learn and contribute to managing infrastructure using Terraform and configuring CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Workflows.
• Gain exposure to AWS services (e.g., S3 and Glue) for data storage and transformation.
• Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., logistics, procurement, production) to understand requirements and support operational systems.
• Help monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines and internal apps to ensure smooth operations.
• Contribute to an agile, detail-oriented culture, balancing speed with the need for robust and dependable operational systems.
  
  

You have…

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or an Engineering field related to Operations / Supply Chain.
• Proficiency in Python with a focus on writing maintainable, testable code.
• Relevant internships or academic projects demonstrating hands-on work with data engineering or software development are a strong plus.
• Good knowledge of SQL and familiarity with relational databases is a plus.
• Basic understanding of orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow) and containerized environments (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker) is a plus.
• An interest in learning about AWS services and Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform) along with CI/CD processes.
• Knowledge of operations and supply chain management is a plus.
• Good communication skills in English, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical teams.
• A keen eye for ensuring operational stability in a fast-paced environment.
