We are currently looking for a Risk Data Engineer ready to join our adventure and share our ambition.

What you will be doing?

Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Risk Data Engineer with a strong focus on data flow management and risk-related processes. You will be responsible for designing and developing backend systems and APIs using technologies such as Python and Docker, aimed at handling risk data. An essential part of this role will also involve ensuring the quality of the data throughout its lifecycle, by defining and monitoring SQL validations, and ensuring that any exceptions or issues are promptly addressed. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to maintain the smooth functioning of processes and ensure data is correctly transformed and meets the required standards.

  • Back-End Development: Design, develop, and optimize backend systems and APIs to manage risk-related data flows, utilizing Python, Docker, and other relevant tools.

  • Data Process Automation: Automate data flows to increase efficiency, ensuring accurate data transformation and seamless integration across multiple markets and systems.

  • Data Quality & Validation: Write and implement SQL-based data validations to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Monitor and check these validations daily, ensuring they are met and handling any exceptions that arise.

  • Exception Handling: Identify, investigate, and resolve any data issues or exceptions that occur within the data flows, ensuring that problems are addressed quickly to avoid process disruption.

  • Daily Maintenance: Continuously monitor and maintain the health of backend systems, ensuring all data processing tasks are running smoothly and that systems are aligned with business requirements.

  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other development teams and external partners to ensure smooth system integration and effective communication on any issues related to data flow and risk processes.

Documentation & Reporting: Maintain clear documentation of backend processes, validation rules, and exception-handling procedures. Provide regular reports on system performance, data quality, and validation status.

Skills you should have

  • Back-End Development Expertise: Strong experience in Python, Docker, and building backend systems and APIs to manage data flows.

  • SQL Proficiency: Solid knowledge of SQL to define and manage data validations, ensuring data quality, and handling exceptions within the data pipeline.

  • Process Automation & Maintenance: Ability to automate processes and maintain daily system operations, ensuring smooth data flows and timely resolution of issues.

  • Git

  • Experience with CI/CD processes,

  • Experience with cloud solutions,

  • Bash/command line basics,

  • Experience in visualisation tools like Looker, Tableau, Reporting Services  (nice to have),

  • knowledge of nonSQL solutions (i.e. Bigtable).

  • Educational Background: A degree in computer science, finance, statistics, mathematics, econometrics, computer science, or a related field.

  • Fluency in English: Strong communication skills, able to work effectively across teams and document processes clearly.

  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on monitoring data quality, identifying issues, and ensuring data integrity throughout the process.
