Truveta was born in the Pacific Northwest, but we have employees who live across the country. Our team enjoys the flexibility of a hybrid model and working from anywhere. In person attendance is required for two weeks during the year for Truveta Planning Weeks.
For overall team productivity, we optimize meeting hours in the pacific time zone. We avoid scheduling recurring meetings that start after 3pm PT, however, ad hoc meetings occur between 8am-6pm Pacific time.

This Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Clinical Data Scientist to join our Product Enablement and Data Validation team. This pivotal role focuses on ensuring the integrity and reliability of Truveta’s data, enabling our customers to make informed decisions based on high-quality insights. As a Senior Clinical Data Scientist, you will leverage your expertise in data exploration, analysis, and validation to drive impactful studies and provide strategic recommendations that enhance research outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of Truveta Data, its characteristics, and its applications in clinical research.
- Enablement and Validation Strategy: Design, plan, and execute comprehensive data enablement and validation studies, prioritizing efforts based on stakeholder input and customer needs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with clinical informatics, data quality engineering, and other teams to align efforts, share insights, and improve Truveta Data.
- Reporting and Recommendations: Create detailed, customer-facing reports that summarize findings and provide actionable recommendations for research studies utilizing Truveta Data.
- Code Development: Write high-quality, reproducible analysis code in SQL, R, Python, and Spark, and share it with internal teams and customers for educational purposes.
- Communication: Present findings to internal product and engineering teams to inform data quality improvements and long-term strategic initiatives. Ability to meet with customers to understand research needs and present findings.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree or equivalent in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or Economics.
- Technical Skills: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in data analytics, including proficiency in SQL, Spark, R, and/or Python, with a focus on executing data exploration, profiling, and validation projects.
- Collaboration Experience: Proven track record of working effectively with cross-functional teams and communicating complex findings to diverse audiences.
- Self-Motivated: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating initiative and delivering high-quality results.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey project status, timelines, and project outcomes clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Healthcare Data: Experience with working and analyzing large scale healthcare data.
- Statistical Expertise: Experience with statistical programming and methodologies, including time-series analyses, survival analyses, and longitudinal data analyses.
- Teaching Experience: Background in teaching coding and data analysis techniques to diverse audiences.
- Scientific Contributions: Proven track record of publication in peer-reviewed literature, including as first author.

- The base pay for this position is $170,000 to $190,000. The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target. Pay is based on several factors including location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional compensation such as incentive pay and stock options.
