Job Description

This role will be a member of VCA Data Solutions team in Asia Pacific and will report to the Head of Data overseeing the client account This position will be embedded at client office and based in Malaysia

The individual will be accountable for delivery and implementation of analytics strategies as well as high impact solutions for the client He or she will bring in deep expertise from retail banking and credit cards with a strong background in data analysis to solve complex problems and unlock business value

Key responsibilities include

• Leading the delivery of analytics work in client squads, implementing analytics driven strategies and high impact solutions for Visa clients. Performing QA on data and deliverables by analysts and own deliverables.
• Acting as a data science advocate within partner organizations, advising and coaching analytical teams, and sharing best practices and case studies.
• Leading and mentoring team members with knowledge in retail banking, credit card, and payments domain to guide them on solution architecture.
• Playing the role of an individual contributor and team lead to develop data science capabilities and analytical solutions that solve business problems for clients.
• Driving new initiatives and innovation by using data and technical frameworks.
• Building predictive models using advanced machine learning techniques, interpreting and presenting modeling and analytical results to a non technical audience.
• Continually assessing the environment to challenge assumptions about new sources of data, potential analytics partners, tools, talent, and infrastructure.
• Exporting leading methodologies and best practices to other teams and importing successful methodologies from other international markets.
• Ensuring all project documentation is up to date and all projects are reviewed according to the analytic plan.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

• A bachelor degree in analytical fields comprising of econometrics statistics data science and finance
• A master degree in the same fields will be an advantage
• More than 10 years of experience in performing data exploration building end to end analytical solutions and data driven strategies
• Experience in Retail banking analytical domain Preferably in Card banking domain Strong internal team and external client stakeholder management skills with a collaborative diplomatic and flexible approach able to work effectively in a matrixed organization
• Strong comprehension of algorithms machine learning models and end to end development skills that align with business requirements
• Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously and onsite deployment at clients site Practical experience in building and applying machine learning models involving regression clustering classification such as gradient boosting random forests linear models deep learning
• Handson experience with one or more data analytics or programming tools such as SAS R SQL Python Hive and familiarity with the Hadoop ecosystem
• Demonstrated experience in planning organizing and managing multiple analytics projects with diverse cross functional stakeholders
• Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to think creatively and strategically Presentation and data storytelling skills including proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
