Job Description

Team Summary

To ensure that Visa’s payment technology is truly available to everyone, everywhere requires the success of our business partners such as financial institutions, merchants, fintechs, government agencies and internal business units. The Global Data Science group supports these partners by using our extraordinarily rich data set that spans more than 3 billion cards globally and captures more than 100 billion transactions in a single year.

What a Director, Data Science does at Visa:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated project manager to join our team. This role will be primarily responsible for managing projects to data platform and data product sales, as well as leading Visa data commercialization business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, data platforms, product sales, and a deep understanding of data commercialization strategies.

• As the Director of Data Science, you will support and contribute to the Data Science teams in Korea and Mongolia.

• Take a role as project manager, leading data commercialization initiatives including data platform / product sales and developing new data products and pipelines by fully leveraging Visa’s assets.

• Identify business opportunities and drive the business to encourage the creation of new data solutions/products that are suitable for multiple clients.

• Lead the communication with clients to understand the challenges they face and convince them with data platform / products.

• Collaborate with stakeholders across the team to identify opportunities for leveraging Visa data and data science approaches to drive Visa’s core business.

• Lead efforts to form data alliances with external parties who have beneficial data sources and capabilities to expand data-driven business.

• Synthesize ideas/proposals in writing and engage in productive discussions with both external or internal stakeholders.

• Support clients in exploring global business opportunities with their data solution and platform, leveraging Visa's global networks.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualification
•12+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 10+ years of
work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3+
years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualification
•Bachelors or Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science,
Data Science, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical
field
•4+ years for leading data-based platform / solution sales while building strong
relationship with clients as project manager
•8+ years of hands-on experiences in data science works (ex. AI / ML based
modeling)
•Managing and organizing work well in Office software such as Word, Excel,
PowerPoint and/or Teams
•Previous exposure to financial services, credit cards or merchant analytics is a
plus, but not required
•Professional communication skills in data-driven insights and conveying
actionable recommendations
